The most important element in a house is not the floor plan, the furnishing, the traffic line, not even the external design.
To me the most important element is the relationship between the inside and outside, as well as the relationship within the interior.
The relationship between the architecture and its environment is what makes a good building.
Although, lately, many architectural magazines are featuring abstract house designs, I don’t think that I can live in any of them.
What about storage spaces? Inside temperature? Usability? A good architecture is not possible ignoring these elements.
Once that relationship between the inside and outside is established, one can immerse oneself in an indescribably comfortable space.
And the occupants can forge good relationship with oneself and with themselves.
People can't live too long in a building build only on its architectural concept or its exterior design.
A good architectural design should be designed with heart, and not only with head. Makoto Nakayama
